Case Study

Skyfall Pouch Sorter for Industrial Laundry: The Blanchisserie Dumoulin Case Study

Ferag AG has installed a Skyfall pouch sorter for industrial laundry at Blanchisserie Dumoulin, in the Belgian border town of Comines-Warneton. The site specializes in laundering hospital linen. The system has run since autumn 2018. It uses more than 12,000 pouches, making it one of the world's largest installations in the industrial laundry sector. Five automatic infeed and delivery stations power the system. Newly developed by Ferag, they keep the system running at a high level of automation. They also increase overall efficiency. The Skyfall system processes more than 20,000 linen sets a day, each heat-sealed in plastic film. Every conveyor pouch carries up to eight kilograms.
