The Consumable That Holds Your Bundles Together

We’re a reliable partner to newspaper publishers, commercial printers and other companies in advanced graphical processing. So we know how much a reliable production process matters. Consumable materials like strapping play a decisive role here. A reliable strap reduces downtime. It also extends the lifecycle of the system it runs on. As a result, choosing the right PP and PET strapping material isn’t a minor decision. It’s part of keeping your line running.

PP (polypropylene) and PET (polyester) strapping each suit different jobs. PP strapping runs 4 mm to 19 mm wide. It works well for lighter bundling — newspapers, magazines and lighter packaging loads. PET strapping runs wider, from 9 mm to 32 mm. In addition, it holds more tension and recovery. As a result, PET is often the better choice for heavier, denser pallets and long-term storage loads. You can seal both types by ultrasonic or thermal welding. Both also come in different colors. That’s useful if you color-code product lines or destinations on your production floor.

Our strapping material works on all standard semi- and fully automatic strapping machines. It also works with common hand tools. So switching to Ferag’s PP and PET strapping material doesn’t mean replacing your existing equipment.

This matters most at scale, especially in newspaper and magazine production. Bundles move fast. They get stacked high. Often, they sit in transit or storage for days before delivery. So the strap needs to hold tension consistently, without breaking or loosening. That’s what keeps bundles intact — from your mailroom all the way to the delivery point.
