CH Media is making a substantial investment in the future of newspaper printing, transforming its Aarau site into Switzerland’s most advanced and high-performance newspaper printing plant by 2027. A central element of this investment is the installation of a new Ferag RollSert mailroom line, scheduled to go into operation in October 2026.
The new RollSert line replaces the last remaining Müller Martini inserting line and strengthens Aarau’s capabilities with increased efficiency, automation and flexibility. With this upgrade, CH Media will operate three modern Ferag mailroom lines at the Aarau site.
The investment is part of a comprehensive modernization program that also includes an additional high-performance folding machine from Koenig & Bauer and further optimizations across the entire production chain – from prepress to distribution.
At its Aarau and St. Gallen sites, CH Media produces 25 daily newspapers, the weekend edition “Schweiz am Wochenende”, 27 free newspapers, and a range of additional publications. From 2026, the Bieler Tagblatt will be added, further expanding CH Media’s printing portfolio.
This investment demonstrates CH Media’s strong commitment to printed media and supports its vision of becoming Switzerland’s leading competence centre for newspaper printing, together with the St. Gallen site.
Delivery and assembly of the new RollSert line begin in June 2026, with production readiness planned for October 2026.
