Project challenge
- Space-saving conveying across five storeys (20 m) in a “vertical” production plant
- Transport from two production floors to three truck-loading and storage floors
- Handling of four PET bottle shrink-pack sizes plus 5 l and 20 l individual bottles
- Throughput of up to 100 SKUs per minute — 6,000 SKUs per hour
- Highest reliability under continuous, heavy loads
The ferag.skymove solution
Ferag engineered a ferag.skymove plate chain conveyor configured as a compact spiral, routing bottles down through the building without a single transfer point. Because the carrier chain runs on low-friction rollers, the system copes with the weight of full PET bottle shrink-packs while keeping energy consumption and noise low — even across 20 metres of continuous vertical travel. The compact footprint let Ferag fit the entire descent into space a conventional conveyor layout could never have used.
Results
Two ferag.skymove lines now move Bisleri’s output reliably around the clock, handling up to 100 SKUs per minute across four shrink-pack formats and two individual bottle sizes. The space-saving spiral routing freed up floor area for other production steps, and the low-maintenance design keeps operating costs down — the same advantages that make ferag.skymove a fit for conveying tasks well beyond the beverage industry.
